The Technical Director will oversee all technical operations across our four business units, ensuring flawless execution of 8-15 events monthly. You'll lead technical strategy, manage equipment logistics using Current RMS, and maintain our expansive AV inventory supporting up to 5 simultaneous events.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Direct all technical aspects of events from planning through execution across AV rental, live streaming, video production, and staging
- Multi-Event Coordination: Manage technical requirements for up to 5 concurrent events across a seven-state service area
- Equipment Management: Oversee inventory utilization (currently 60%), maintenance protocols, and quality control testing after every event
- Team Development: Lead and mentor the AV engineering and technical staff; implement CTS and OSHA certification programs
- Emergency Response: Develop and execute protocols for equipment failures during live events
- Client Consultation: Provide technical expertise during client meetings, site surveys, and proposal development
- Cross-Division Support: Ensure seamless technical integration across Academy Sounds, Illuminate Displays, Corporate Event Staging, and The Live Stage
- Vendor Relations: Maintain partnerships with preferred venues (Deerfield Golf Club, DuPont Country Club, Wilmington Public Library, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in event production or AV technical management
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Expert knowledge of audio systems, video production, lighting, staging, and live streaming technologies
- Experience with VMix or similar encoding software
- Proficiency with equipment management systems (Current RMS or similar)
- OSHA certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively across seven states
- Strong leadership and team management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multi-location, simultaneous events
- Background in both corporate and non-profit event production
- Knowledge of interactive displays, video walls, and digital signage
- Studio production experience (audio recording, podcasts, virtual events)
- Rigging and trussing certifications

Role Overview
The Video Director will lead all video production initiatives across live streaming, video production projects, and studio content creation. You'll direct multi-camera shoots, manage live streaming operations using VMix, and create award-winning content that elevates our clients' messages.
Key Responsibilities
- Live Production Direction: Direct live-streamed events (Essential Stream $1,200 to Broadcast Premium $3,200 packages) with multi-camera setups
- Video Production Management: Oversee video production projects from pre-production through post-production and delivery
- Studio Operations: Direct studio sessions for podcasts, audio recording, virtual events, and digital media content at The Live Stage
- Technical Excellence: Operate and manage VMix encoding software, cameras, switchers, and streaming equipment
- Creative Vision: Develop shot lists, camera plans, and visual storytelling approaches for diverse client needs
- Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients to understand their vision and deliver customized video solutions
- Team Leadership: Train and direct camera operators, audio technicians, and production assistants during shoots
- Quality Control: Ensure all video deliverables meet professional broadcast standards
- Equipment Expertise: Maintain proficiency with our camera systems, lighting packages, and live streaming technology
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional video production and/or live streaming experience
- Proven experience directing multi-camera live productions
- Expert knowledge of VMix or similar live production software
- Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting design, and audio for video
- Experience with both studio and on-location shoots
- Excellent communication and client relations skills
- Portfolio demonstrating diverse video production work
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with non-profit and corporate event videography
- Background in broadcast or streaming production
- Knowledge of post-production workflows and editing software
- Experience producing content that has won awards or recognition
- Familiarity with podcast production and audio recording
- Understanding of interactive displays and video wall content creation
